WHEN A FOREIGN COUNTRY GIVES YOUR SON PEACE THAT IN HIS HOMELAND, HE DIDN’T EVEN HAVE IN HIS GRAVE IN HIS CITY

From the moment two people have a child their greatest fear becomes the thought: just that something doesn’t happen to him. This primordial fear accompanies every parent for the rest of their lives because the love of a mother and father for their children never stops. Even when children become adults, their parents take care of their lives.

The tragedy of the Dragicevic family is not just a game of fate or an accident. There was no traffic accident or serious illness. Nothing happened that would give Davor and Suzana the opportunity to find any explanation that could give them comfort in their pain over the loss of the child.

Their son was abducted. Their David was killed. Holders of functions that should guarantee strict respect for the rule of law in the state, abused their functions and the institutions in which they work in order to cover up the murder of David Dragicevic. This fact is a more serious crime than the murder itself and has led to justified distrust in the entire police-judicial apparatus. Which caused citizens to fear for the safety of their families.

To bury a child, your own blood, your hopes, is the worst pain a human being can experience. But forcing a mother and father to bury their son twice is a monstrous crime inherent only in the most cruel inhuman regimes. This is a consequence of the non-existence of the rule of law, ie the abuse of the state by criminals who have employed and controlled the most important institutions for the rule of law. In that way, they secure unpunished committing the most serious crimes, including murder.

On March 15, 2022, we mark the third anniversary of David Dragičević’s funeral in Austria. This second funeral was preceded by painful scenes of the exhumation of David’s remains, as well as a series of inhumane and criminal moves by the authorities towards his parents and the Justice for David group. This attitude of the state towards the victim and the victim’s parents led to the exhumation and transfer of the remains to Austria. Today, four years later, the case has not been resolved. The killers are at large, and the pressure on the parents and activists of the group continues through meaningless accusations and trials. In the coming period, the Justice for David will carry out planned activities aimed at bringing to justice those responsible for the murder and covering up the murder of David Dragicevic.

There is no forgiveness and forgetfulness
JUSTICE FOR DAVID
