WHAT HAPPENED TO 2108 CRIMINAL REPORTS FOR THE MURDER OF DAVID DRAGIČEVIĆ?

The Association of Citizens “Path of Justice”, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded by human rights activists “Justice for David” submitted on March 17, 2022. letter to the Chief District Prosecutor Zoran Bulatović.

He is currently conducting an analysis of prosecutorial decisions, which we are working on as part of the project “Anti-Corruption Campaign and Raising Public Awareness of the Work of the Prosecutor’s Office in the Republika Srpska”.

On that occasion, on February 23, 2022. we sent a request for access to information in the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, in which we requested, among other things, information related to the number of criminal charges for Murder under Article 24, paragraph 1 of the RS Criminal Code. in the period from 2018 to 2022 ”. According to the information received from the District Public Prosecutor’s Office (hereinafter OJTBL), a total of 31 reports for the criminal offense of Murder under Article 24, Paragraph 1 of the RS Criminal Code were filed in the said period.

We remind you that student David Dragičević (21) was killed in March 2018, and that in 2018, citizens filed criminal charges for the crime of Murder, which the father of the murdered young man Davor Dragičević personally taught at the OJTBL every day. Based on the certificates certified by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in the period from May 2018 to September 2018, Mr. Dragicevic submitted a total of 2,139 criminal charges for Murder under Article 24, paragraph 1 of the RS Criminal Code, and the number does not match the total number of charges provided us with a response from OJTBL.

There is a huge difference in the numbers, and they are asking for an explanation of what happened to the 2108 reports and whether these items exist in the records and why they are not in the overall result?

We also requested a meeting with the Chief District Prosecutor as soon as possible with representatives of the association, and the father of the murdered David Dragicevic in order to get answers to these questions and also inspect the case under which criminal charges filed by Mr. Dragicevic in 2018. .

The letter is accompanied by 47 attachments which confirm that the OJTBL has received the aforementioned criminal charges.
