Today, the address of the citizens’ association “Put Pravde” – “Justice for David”, received a response from the Basic Court in Banja Luka for a request for access to information related to the trial of crime technicians accused of destroying David Dragicevic’s underwear.

As the public already knows the criminal technicians who were accused of destroying the crown evidence, acting judge Radmila Medakovic on January 27, 2022. years acquitted of the charges.

Such a verdict was due to the “lack” of evidence by the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office, which indicted two crime technicians for destroying the crown evidence of David Dragicevic’s murder, but failed to prove it before the Banja Luka Basic Court.

It has long been clear to everyone that the indictment of prosecutor Dalibor Vreco is incomplete and ridiculous. The parents of the murdered David Dragicevic and the group “Justice for David” constantly pointed out that this was a trial initiated by a prosecutor who was proven to have conducted an inadequate investigation into the murder of David Dragicevic, and the Basic Court in Banja Luka gave the green light to initiated or confirmed the indictment of Dalibor Vreco. Despite the fact that the said prosecutor was in charge of the Dragicevic case, the court still allowed him to represent this indictment, which he filed against his associates.

Considering that only two crime technicians have been charged, and many more officers are involved in destroying the crown evidence in the investigation, of course the indictment is incomplete.

Since the beginning of the trial in 2021, the members of UG “Put Pravde” – “Pravda za Davida” have regularly submitted a request to attend the hearing, and in that way they tried to monitor it.

Since the trial before the Basic Court is over, UG “Put Pravde” sent a request to the Basic Court on 15 February 2022 for access to information requesting the following information from the court and the acting judge in the Radmila Medaković case:

Is the verdict final?
Did the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor's Office appeal the verdict to the District Court?
If the District Public Prosecutor's Office complained, can a copy of the complaint be obtained for inspection?
Can a transcript of the recording (audio recording) be obtained?
Can a completed verdict be obtained?

Since the Basic Court did not satisfy our request and did not provide us with the requested information, we are forced to contact the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, specifically the acting prosecutor Dalibor Vreća, to whom we will send a letter requesting the information.
