The Ministry of the Interior did not act in accordance with the law

The president and vice-president of the citizens’ association “The Path of Justice” Banja Luka, Sofija Grmusa and Merlina Ivic, submitted a request for removal from the criminal records of the Ministry of the Interior. The request was submitted on February the 4th 2021.

This time as well, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not act in accordance with the law. On February the 24th the president and vice president of the citizens’ association “The Path of Justice” Banja Luka, Sofija Grmusa and Merlina Ivic, referred the issue of the status of their request to the Ministry of the Interior. They did not receive an answer.

The police officer who was on duty announced that there is a certain procedure for that and that the legal deadline is 30 days. No response was received after the legal deadline. So much for complying with legal regulations. Attached is a request with the date when it was received.

The president of the citizens’ association “The Path of Justice” Banja Luka, Sofija Grmusa, stated that on February the 4th 2021, police officers told her that it was impossible for criminal records to be kept in the Ministry of the Interior without a final judgment of the Court.

The vice-president of the citizens’ association “The Path of Justice” in Banja Luka, Merlina Ivic, stated for our portal: “I, Ivic Merlina, have never received a single misdemeanor report at my address or residence. The Ministry of the Interior states that I have 4 FINALLY misdemeanor charges. That is why I asked them to print out their records so that I would know what final judgments were involved so that I could consult a lawyer about these offenses, which I was never informed about. “
