Request for the resignation of the President and all members of the Council of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today at 12 o’clock in Sarajevo, the Request for the resignation of the President and all members of the Council of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina was submitted. The request was submitted by two citizens ‘associations: “Dženan Memić” from Sarajevo, founded by the parents of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, and the citizens’ association “The Path of Justice” Banja Luka, founded by human rights activist “Justice for David”.

An independent, efficient and accountable judiciary is a phrase and an impossible mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with President Milan Tegeltija, does not act in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and does not serve the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Recent events (the Buha and Čegar case), telephone appointments, and indirect bribery (the Alešević case) on certain cases indicate the continuing illegal work of the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Tegeltija, who is unfortunately supported by other Council members.

By his actions, public appearance, and pale justification that the recordings were montages and that he was not responsible, he degraded the dignity and authority of the largest judicial institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Therefore, we as an association logically and reasonably ask the question HOW DALIDA BURZIC, former Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office, was appointed, as well as other judicial officials, given the “known way of working” of President Milan Tegeltija and the members of the council who support him.

We demand and demand, in addition to the above facts, that the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milan Tegeltija and all members of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina resign as soon as possible and contribute to judicial and efficient judicial institutions !!
