Davor Dragičević: “Muriz and I will have no mercy!”

Davor Dragicevic was a participant in the third international conference of Justice for David, entitled “Anti-corruption campaign and raising public awareness about the work of the Prosecutor’s Office in Republika Srpska.” The conference was held on October 30, 2021 in the conference hall of the Hotel “Jelena” Jovana Dučića 25, Banja Luka, starting at 10:00.

Let us remind you, after the murder of David Dragicevic, the first, long-lasting, non-political protests of Justice for David begin. Davor Dragicevic then became the central figure in whom the citizens saw a strong character and sincere emotion. He said at daily gatherings that his son had been abducted, tortured, raped and eventually killed, and laid to rest in the Church. He pointed out that David went through the greatest tortures for six days, and that he was killed on March 23. He accused police officers of taking part in the murder, and then the leaders of the RS MUP of participating in concealing evidence and obstructing the investigation. The protests lasted in great concentration until the end of December 2018. When there was a great police persecution and repression of activists and citizens. Davor Dragičević left BiH on December 30, 2018 and stayed in Vienna. He returned to Bosnia at the end of October 2021.

In addition to Davor, conference participants included Dijana Radovic of the Center for Civil Initiatives in Sarajevo, Eric Larson, international prosecutor and anti-corruption expert, Sarajevo Anti-Corruption Office, Dejan Lucka, of the Banja Luka Center for Human Rights, and Ozren Perduv, a justice activist. for David, President of the political party “Movement of Justice”, Ifet Feraget, lawyer, Zana Gauk, journalist, Journalinfo, Srdjan Blagovcanin, Transparency International BiH, and the moderator of the panel discussion was Prof. dr. Danijela Majstorović, University of Banja Luka, then representatives of the citizens’ association Put Pravde ”and numerous Justice activists for David.

In his introductory speech, Davor Dragicevic made a chronological overview of all his activities aimed at the prosecution during 2018. As Davor Dragičević points out on March 30, 2018, Sasa Labotić, the then prosecutor in the Banja Luka District Prosecutor’s Office, forwarded the indictment, which was allegedly filed on February 28, for confirmation. 2018 against the murdered David Dragičević for confirmation, after the accused David Dragičević was brutally killed and his body was found on March 23, 2018. The indictment was withdrawn on April 27, 2018, based on the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republika Srpska, and in agreement with the Chief District Prosecutor Zelimir Lepir.

As Dragicevic further states, on June 14, 2018, he received a response from the Chief Republic Prosecutor Mahmut Švraka. read through pre-investigation actions in order to determine all important facts and circumstances in shedding light on the death of David Dragicevic, and therefore it would not be expedient or justified to exclude the case from the work of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office of Banja Luka or to exclude the case from the already acting prosecutorial team.

On June 15, 2018, Davor Dragičević submitted a request to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office to initiate a disciplinary process and dismiss Sasa Labotić and initiate disciplinary proceedings against Želimir Lepir and Mahmut Švraka.

As can be seen from the introductory speech, Davor Dragicevic exhausted all legal and other means in order to communicate with the primary, District Public Prosecutor’s Office Banja Luka, which unfortunately did not give any results. Davor submitted various requests, publicly lobbied and pointed out all the problems of the work of the prosecution at the local level precisely through the case of the brutal murder of his son David Dragicevic.

During the panel discussion, Davor points out that in this country, anyone who endangers “them” and their armchairs and chairs is endangered.

I, who am here today, am here exclusively thanks to “Justice for David”, lawyer Ifet Feraget, but especially to the brave lawyers from Banja Luka. I ask the question: “Do we need an academic community at all now after 4 years, where the academic community and civic associations were on 30.12. 2018.? ”

Davor emphasizes that we must know the structure of the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina: “We are not all educated and we do not understand all problems in the same way, and educated prosecutors use their knowledge to manipulate people, instead of working according to the law.”

“If we allow one Slavica Matijaš to appear in front of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office and for the activists of Justice for David, he says” again these criminals “, can we even say that there is a rule of law here? Muriz and I will have no mercy, whoever has not understood the nature and meaning of our struggle so far, will never understand! Only when we look each other in the eye can we move forward, and when we acknowledge, to each other, all our shortcomings and shortcomings. ”
