BIG PROTESTS / Three years since October 5: “Dragicevic” case still unresolved

Three years ago, on the eve of the elections in BiH, a large gathering was held at which those gathered sought only truth and justice. This was one of the largest protest rallies in Banja Luka.

Let us remind you, David Dragičević disappeared on the night of March 17-18, 2018. He was found dead at the mouth of the Crkvena River in Vrbas in the center of Banja Luka, six days later.

David’s death and the conference of the Ministry of the Interior started several months of protest rallies “Justice for David” on Banja Luka’s Krajina Square.

From the very beginning, David’s parents claim that David’s death is not without elements of a crime, but that it was a murder.

The District Prosecutor’s Office, after three months of conducting pre-investigation activities, on June 28, 2018, issued an order to conduct an investigation against unknown perpetrators on the grounds of suspicion of murder.

The months-long protests of Justice for David culminated during three large gatherings in Banja Luka, when they gathered tens of thousands of citizens.

The last big rally was held on October 5th, two days before the BiH elections. The protests of Justice for David on Krajina Square ended on December 25, 2018. year with the arrest of Davor Dragicevic and the cleaning of Krajina Square.

For a couple of days, the protests are held spontaneously, by walking the streets of Banja Luka, led by Davor Dragicevic.

The last walk was held on December 30, 2018, and ended with a police action in which several people were detained.

On March 14, 2019, the body of David Dragičević was transferred from Banja Luka to Austria. The body was exhumed on March 12, 2019 at the request of his parents, Davor Dragicevic and Suzana Radanovic, to be buried in Wiener Neustad, the town where David’s mother lives.

Instead of solving the murder case, there are persecutions and trials against the Justice for David group led by Davor Dragicevic, but also against David’s mother Suzana Radanovic.

Numerous proceedings were initiated at the Basic Court in Banja Luka against the members of the group Justice for David, for gathering in front of the Temple of Christ the Savior. So far, all proceedings have ended with acquittals.

The case is currently “in the hands” of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH

The case is still pending.
