105 invitations sent to judges to participate in the third zoom debate OPEN ABOUT JUDICIARY

Citizens’ Association “The Path of Justice” Banja Luka, founded by some human rights activists “Justice for David” in cooperation with the association “Justice for David and all children of Bosnia and Herzegovina” Vienna, Austria with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) – for Social democracy, organizes a series of Zoom public debates on the topic: OPEN ABOUT THE POLICE, PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, JUDICIARY AND POLITICS! Leading representatives of the institutions of the system covered by the topic of debate are invited to each Zoom session. In addition to them, the invitation was sent to all those interested in public and political life.

So far, 105 summonses have been delivered to judges from all courts. We submitted 34 summonses to judges in the Basic Court, 22 summonses to judges in the Supreme Court, 31 summonses to judges in the District Court, 9 summonses to judges in the Constitutional Court of Republic of Srpska and 9 summonses to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We received answers from several judges from the District, Basic, Supreme and Constitutional Courts of the Republic of Srpska that they were sorry that they could not participate in the public debate. The members of the association hope that some of the judges will respond positively to the third zoom debate OPEN ON JUDICIARY.

The primary goal of this event is to insist on the criminal responsibility of all those who, by doing, but also by not doing, led to the obstruction of the investigation in the case of the murder of David Dragicevic. The secondary goal of this event is a retrospective of the work of the Police, Prosecutor’s Office and Judiciary, and the role of Politics in general and the ways in which citizens reacted to the activities of system institutions in the specific case of David Dragicevic’s murder.
